Edit Network

Open a network's Edit page from its actions menu on the Networks index, or from the Manage menu on the network's detail page — Edit is disabled where it doesn't apply (for example, on a reserved network, or one still in use by another platform component).

If the network already has virtual interfaces attached, the form loads read-only with a notice that its properties can't be altered while it's in use.

The form is organized into three steps — Network Settings, Selected Physical Interface, and Name — with a running summary of your choices alongside them.

Network Settings​

  • DHCP Type — Static or External (Internal is also available for non-physical networks).
  • Routable — not shown for External networks.
  • Billable — shown for Static and External networks.
  • VLAN Tag and Is Wired? — shown when the network is a VLAN.
  • Is External Gateway? — shown for a non-routable Static VLAN network.
  • Enable NAT Forwarding? — shown for a routable Internal or Static network.
  • IP Version (IPv4/IPv6), IP Address Start, IP Address End, Gateway IP, and DNS IPs (optional) — not shown for External networks. Start/End accept comma-separated values to define multiple allocation-pool ranges.
  • DHCP Server IP — shown for a routable Internal network.
  • Network Prefix (CIDR) — not shown for External networks.

Selected Physical Interface​

Choose the physical interface(s) the network is bonded to. A VLAN network is limited to a single active interface, unless fault tolerance is enabled, in which case a second interface can be selected as a passive standby.

Name​

Set the network's Name and Description, then Finish to save.
