Create Datastore

caution

Draft — needs screenshots. This section hasn't been through the docs-capture pipeline yet, so there are no screenshots. Steps are grounded in the current product code (routes and page components), not a live capture — verify against the running product once this section is captured.

From Datastores, click Create Datastore to open the wizard. It has three steps, plus a running summary you submit from:

  1. Select Compute Nodes. Choose one or more compute nodes to draw storage from. Each row shows the node's used/total space and how many of its disks are still available (not already assigned to a datastore) out of its total; only nodes with at least one available disk are offered.
  2. Select Physical Disks. Pick the specific physical disks to add to the datastore, grouped by the compute node(s) chosen in step 1. Each disk shows a used-space ring, its vendor and hardware ID, and an Available/In use state — disks already assigned to another datastore can't be selected. A per-node checkbox selects or clears every available disk in that group at once.
  3. Add name & description. Name is required; description is optional.

A Review & Submit panel on the side tracks completion of all three steps and submits the datastore once every step has at least one selection (and a name). Completed steps can be reopened for editing via their Edit link before you submit.
